Spot clean only, when needed.

These hats have a printed front design and, on most colorways, hand placed rivets. That rules out anything involving a lot of water, heat or agitation. Treated right, they last.

Brush off the dust

Start dry. A soft brush or a lint roller lifts dust and hair off the crown and brim without touching the printed front. Most of the time this is all a hat needs.

Spot clean only

For a mark, use a soft cloth, cool water and a small amount of mild detergent. Work on the spot itself rather than scrubbing the fabric around it. Never soak the hat and never submerge it.

Air dry, holding the shape

Air dry only, away from direct heat. Rest the hat on something round while it dries - a canister or a rolled towel - so the crown keeps its shape instead of collapsing flat.

Store it upright

Keep it on a shelf or a hook rather than crushed at the bottom of a bag. The satin bag it arrived in works for travel.

Never do this

  • Machine washing - agitation loosens hand placed rivets and lifts the printed design
  • Tumble drying - heat warps the brim and can crack the print
  • Soaking or submerging - water through the whole hat distorts the crown and brim
  • Bleach or harsh solvents - strips color from the cotton and the print
  • The dishwasher - despite what the internet tells you about hats

The distressed brim on the eagle colorway is the intended finish, not damage, and it isn't covered as a defect.
